Our customer operates within the hydro-power sector and required a robust lifting solution to manage loads with varying weights in an industrial operation.
The customers intended application is to lift large and cumbersome machinery, so the application required the maximum possible height of lift. Due to the varied size and weight of the loads, our customer required a 10,000kg safe working load (SWL) and the weight of the load would need to be distributed evenly during lifting, ensuring a safe and controlled lift. The lifting solution required should be flexible, configurable in a low headroom environment and rated to the correct lifting capacity.
As the customer intends to move different types of machinery around their industrial facility, each with differentiating weight and dimensions, we have supplied a 10,000kg steel lifting beam with 2 adjustable lifting centres and terminated with self-locking hooks.
The 10,000kg lifting capacity is the upper limit of our customers requirements ensuring that they are able to lift any equipment necessary to their operation. The lifting beams 2 adjustable lifting centres allows our customer to move the hooks further along the lifting beam to balance the weight distribution of the load
depending on the equipment being lifted. The self-locking hooks are designed so that the latch cannot open under load and requires pressure on the trigger to release the hook when the load is grounded, providing our customer with an enhanced safety feature for their operation.
The lifting beams will be attached to an electric wire rope hoist using the hook suspension and this configuration provides the customer with maximum height of lift, an ideal solution for heavy lifting in a low-headroom environment.
“Our customer's requirements were clear and have supplied them with a robust, safe and suitable lifting solution to assist their operation and drive efficiency."
